1984 Delta 88 Royale Brougham
For Sale:
(Tucson, Arizona).
1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham. Dark Maple Metallic (Burgundy). Probably one of the nicest survivors of 80’s luxury around. I would drive this car cross country without a single doubt it would make it.
The car is all original, never modified. Just went through the Arizona emissions inspection, and easily passed.
I am the 3rd owner (2nd was original owner's son). The car is very nicely equipped. Never smoked in, always garage kept, and well maintained from new. It’s totally rust free, and in beautiful condition. 86K original miles, and it runs/drives like incredibly well.
I have taken pictures in both direct sun light, and dusk. Everything about this car shows well. To see all 60+ pics, please follow this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1065647...7638772424445/ or look in my photo album on this site.
Exterior: Laser straight body, no accidents, no rust, no damage. One repaint the original color (Dark Maple Metallic). Not sure how old the paint is, but it still has a great shine. There is one small ding on each door, a few small rock chips, and the plastic side moldings for the vinyl top are missing (under the Royale Brougham emblems)... I am currently looking for replacements. All of the weather stripping is like new (both doors, and trunk).
Interior: The inside looks as nice as the outside. No issues, no sun fade. The windshield is original, and the blue shading at the top is perfect. The seats, headliner, and door panels show no wear. Even has the original GM carpeted floor mats (which have been covered since new). No cracks in the dash, or steering wheel (both covered since new).
Chrome shines like new. Undercarriage is as nice as the rest of the car. No rust, no leaks, no issues. Trunk is clean shows well too. Doughnut spare was replaced with a full size spare at some point. Motor starts on first try, runs smooth/strong. Transmission shifts like it should, and the car cruises down the highway at 75 effortlessly.
Accessories: Power steering, power brakes, automatic transmission, gauge package, power windows, power locks, tilt wheel, cruise control, power trunk release, intermittent wipers, 60/40 split bench with dual 6 way power seat (passenger seat also reclines), am/fm stereo cassette, power antenna (IN-OP), remote passenger mirror, tinted glass, illuminated visor mirror, map lights, wire wheel covers, courtesy lamp package (door lock/interior lights come on when you lift the door handle), rear defogger, cornering lamps, and more.
There were two performance options ordered on this car (which are listed on the RPO code sticker). G80 Posi, and F41 suspension. To decode all 86 RPO codes, please follow this link: http://apps.oldsgmail.com/rpolookup.asp
I would like to concentrate on my 1962 88. Email offers, questions, or comments.
$4000.00
Thanks, Paul.

Sorry buddy...Timing is everything. I'm sure that you will find something soon. Oh yea... that B07 would look nice in my garage too!

$1 Bob
$5k is a lot - It seems like a very nice car though. 2.41 8.5" posi and heavy duty wheels and the trip odometer etc.
I wish it didn't have that Landau top - and because lower sail panel edge replacements are made out of unobtanium, I bet you do too.
Does it still have the 200C transmission? These frequently were replaced by 350Cs after the weak 200C gave it up...does it leak anything?

The 200c may well be the weakest tranny to ever take up residence behind a V8 ... but it's also just about the easiest rebuild out there. And it's light enough to significantly improve your fuel mileage over the 350.

I lowered the price to $4000. I would like to sell it soon, but will wait until after the holidays, and try again (if needed).
Still has the original transmission. The car does not leak a drop of fluid on my driveway.
Thanks, Paul.

a/c blows cold. Still has the R12. All lights work. Door chime works. As far as I know, the power antenna is in-op. Cruise is untested. Anything this car would need is minor.

bump for you and your beautiful car
where did your quest for sail panel lower edge pieces end?
all that '98-spec luxo stuff (like the dome light - but no clock, weird) and still the brougham seat pattern too, AND those awesome wire wheel covers with the large rocket logo on the center (instead of the "triple stacked" cover, with the smaller Olds crest in center) = awesome
aftermarket third brake light, right? does it work?
the pic UNDER DRIVER DOOR LOOKING CENTER - that is beautiful, look at how clean it is around the trans mount / pan / speedo cable - and the cat in the background is beautiful too - how does something un-restored still look like that? what have i been doing wrong?
i wish there were more close-ups of the engine room

Thanks! I have not found the lower roof trim pieces (yet). I have been busy working on my 62. I will look in the local wrecking yard this week.
The car has a digital radio (rpo code UM6). The clock is part of the radio. The rocket emblem on the wire wheels is correct for 84 (they are also nos replacements). The smaller crest is for 85.
Third brake light is junk, I never removed it, but will one of these days. Does not work. I can take more engine specific pics if you are interested.
The bottom of the car is clean/dry. I could not have it parked on my paver driveway if it leaked.
Thanks again for the bump!
Paul.
