For sale a 1967 Delta 88 2dr. Trim and bumpers in good shape but body panels have significant rust. Extra front bumper included. 425 turns over but I haven't gotten it started yet. Previous owner claims car ran 7 months ago. Likely best used as a parts car. Located in Jessup, Maryland near Baltimore. $1,000.00.

Hi Scott: I see that the side marker lights seem to have been added. I also see Delta Custom trim on the side of the vehicle which I believe was added as well.
With that said. I seems to me that there are plenty of available parts.
Could you post pictures of the engine bay, trunk and rear bumper as well?
Can you tell us any more about the history of this car?

My friend and I picked up this Delta 88 and the 69 Cutlass also posted for sale over the weekend. The person we bought the car from is the original owner of the Delta 88. He is in his 90s and could no longer work on the cars. He said that the car was running about 7 months ago. However, when we tried to start it it turned over a few times and then there was a short. Haven't trouble shot it yet, but thinking an issue with the starter or positive battery cable. The Cutlass fired up pretty easily. A person from the Olds club in Northern California called me and let me know about the cars (thanks Steve). There are also some assorted parts such as an extra front bumper which would be a really good core.

But another photos shows "Delta 88 Custom" on a badge apparently on the glovebox lid, which suggests it IS a Delta 88 Custom.





The OP should be careful in how he describes this car. The Delta 88 Custom was a different series from the Delta 88, slightly more upscale, was available only as a two- or four-door hardtop, and was first offered in the '67 model year.

The VIN would tell us whether the car is a Delta 88 or Delta 88 Custom. If the third digit is a 4, it's a Delta 88 Custom. If it's an 8, it's a Delta 88.

I'm not that familiar with Delta 88s. All of my Oldsmobiles have been 1970 Cutlasses and 442s.

Here are the leading numbers of the VIN 354877E.

I checked out an earlier post on Classic Oldsmobile that you heavily contributed to and saw the customs also had tail lights in the bumper. I've included a bumper photo too.

Sure looks like a Delta Custom to me! I'm surprised to see that your car came with a column shift and bench seats. It must have been ordered that way.

So it IS a Delta 88 Custom. That's important, at least a little bit, because, while it's not large, according to the price guides, the Customs do command about a 10% price premium over the regular Delta 88's for equivalent condition and equivalent body style.
