Diego, for some reason I thought you sold your car. Stefano had one advertised not long ago that was kinda similar to yours. I wish I had the room and the $$$ to do his one----
Good luck with the sale !

always liked this car, would be a great car just to cruise around with as is and clean up little by little.
How do the intermittent wipers work? I had always thought you needed a column shift for that option as it was part of the shifter. I have never seen that option before.

Dave, about 10 days after selling - before I could get the money - the buyer backed out. Things pop up in life and I think he was being honest about it. I hemmed and hawed a bit and now it's time to try again.

Hello, I am still new to the hobbie and have a question. This is a question and not a shot or anything towards the asking price as I know nothing about that and wouldn't comment on it. From my limited experience I have seen how sought after these 70 w-30's are. My question is, is this car's value being added to by the pace car history or is it more the color combo / convertible aspect? I know how important the originality, numbers matching aspect, and correct mechanicals are. Just trying to learn, thanks

The aspect that carries the most weight is the fact that it's a W-30 convertible, the 4-4-2 with the most hp in the most desirable bodystyle.
The color combo is strong but I don't think it really adds too much value where it would make or break a buyer's decision, and it certainly is not a demerit like certain earthtones. I'd rank my color combo as strong as a Rallye Red car, which is not as rare but is in demand.
The Dover pedigree adds something to the price, but one would need to find someone who is willing to pay a strong price for that. It's quite possible someone doesn't care about the pedigree and simply wants a W-30 convertible, but there are 263 other ones out there that he/she can buy instead.

To me this is a very fair price and the pace car pedigree adds more than Diego is asking IMHO. If this was an 1970 LS6 Convert it would be twice this amount - I'm not begrudging the Chevy, it is what it is.
And there are not 263 more of these out there, even with the few clones and some undocumented ones I bet there are less than half still around.
