70 CS Vert, Looks good Not mine

70 Vert, AC, Looks good Not mine

http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/3905442951.html

Hi All:
I saw this car at a local car show this week at Foxboro Stadium, MA. It’s not mine. I met the lady who owns it and it looks great (the car that is). It was getting dark, so I did not climb under the car. I tried very hard to find bondo, and was unable to find any Bondo or signs of rust-through-holes. I looked behind the front driver fender looking to tell-tail bondo work inside and did not see any. I also looked inside the trunk around all of the usual places and still no bondo. The trunk paint looked original.
She said this is a Georgia car and was in a garage for many years.
If I had the room and the $$ , I would have bought it myself.
She had the original receipt and the build sheet. Looks like a 12 bolt main (not sure of posi).
Engine had 97k miles, with a 2bbl carb. All looked original and in good clean shape.
The car has factory air and looked like all original parts. It had not been converted to 134a. I assumed the AC was not running.

A few months ago I saw an all bondo 1971 CS Convertible that theoretically sold for 18.2k in NH on ebay. There is no comparison between these two cars. The 1970 CS above for 17.9 is so much better (IMHO).

All bondo car.

so she bought it at Mecum ?

also, I concede I probably am mistaken but I thought every CS came with the 4bbl.

Was there a "regular" Cutlass convertible back then ?

4bbl was standard for 70-72 and may be earlier also, but you received a credit for going with a lower compression engine with 2bbl.

1970-72 drop tops were all supremes or 442's
