Mine was an ugly car for $900, but for a running, driving, registered car, I just couldn't walk away.

For 54 times the price I paid, I'd expect a much better looking car than mine.
Like maybe a Cutlass or a Mercedes.

While I wouldn't call it ugly, I agree that it's not the best color combination on a convertible, and I think whitewall tires would really dress it up, but what it looks like is not why it's not worth nearly $50,000. It could be red with a white top and interior, which I think is the best color combination on a convertible, and it still wouldn't be worth $50K.

Being once owned by John Wayne doesn't make a $10,000 car into a $50,000 car.

I don't think a Cutlass is "much better looking" than an 88. Some of the best-looking cars Olds ever made are the full-size cars.

In general I agree that some of the full-size cars are great-looking, but, unfortunately, I do not believe that the '71-'75 B/C-bodies are any of them.

I think the '73 is the least offensive of the group, but, honestly, I think it's pig-ugly... and I own one!

To go further, I don't think a Mercedes is automatically better looking than a full-size Olds!

The company that owned it may have been owned by the Duke but his name does not appear anywhere and where are the pictures of the Duke with the car. This could have just been a staff car and the Duke may have never even ridden in it. I would call BS on this one. Now the 53 Corvette he had would be a different story. I agree with Jaunty in that a set of whitewalls which would be period correct would help the car a lot. Unless the greater fool comes along, this listing will just expire.

Two thumbs up MD! It's cool you can make fun of yourself. I don't think this one will sell. Buy the time-life movie collection instead and hang out on the couch for a weekend. Anyone want to bet on it?

I think it is a pretty car. I don't think it is worth $48k.

A sword owned by a civil war general is worth more than one from the smoking shops window downtown.
But slapping YENKO all over a Camaro is worth it?
I would rather own this car than if my skanky neighbors owned it!

I didn't say the car wasn't worth more because it was once owned by John Wayne. What I said was that it's not worth that much more.
