1962 Cutlass F-85 Convertible

The Cutlass that started it all! The F-85 was the beginning of new generation of sport, luxury and elegance! This 1962 Cutlass convertible lives up to those expectations! With many new upgrades, this excellent driver, is ready for cruising!

EXTERIOR
The car has been repainted to its original factory white some years ago, and still has a beautiful shine. This car spent its life in California, and is dry all around. There is no rust except some bubbling around the rear wheel wells. The chrome is all intact and near perfect. There are a few chips in the paint, which doesn’t make it a show car, but an exquisite cruiser or the perfect candidate for a repaint. The body is super straight.

INTERIOR
The interior has been completely restored. At time of restoration, new carpet, door panels, vinyl seating, and rear side trim have all been professionally re-upholstered. The convertible top frame has been repainted to match the color of the red interior. The convertible top has also been replaced about 1 year ago. Everything inside the car works perfectly, with the exception to the speedometer, and radio. A Sony XR-C720 stereo with a 10 disk changer has been installed and tastefully hidden in the glove compartment. Custom speaker boxes have been built to house premium speakers and tweeters by BOSTON Sound. The car is also equipped with Parrot Bluetooth devise.

MECHANICS
This is a very reliable driver that starts and drives every time. The V8, 3.5L is dry, with no visible leaks. A new 4 barrel carburetor by Edelbrock has been installed about one year ago, a great boost to the performance! The car has a new battery. The 3-speed Roto Hydramatic transmission has undergone a complete overhaul about 1 year ago and shifts smoothly. For the age of this car, mechanically it is sound, and does not show any need for immediate mechanical attention.

DRIVE
The struts have been replaced this past year, and a new Magnaflow exhaust has been installed. The exhaust makes this F-85 sound like a hot rod! The drum brakes are still good, and the car brakes without a problem, and without any squeaks. We have driven this car around town, and on the highway. It handles perfectly in both situations without any problems with suspension, braking or acceleration.

Hello,

I'm looking for a '62 Cutlass convertible. I imagine the one you had for sale is gone but just wanted to check. Sorry to bother you.

Thanks.

I doubt this guy will answer you. He made exactly 1 post three years ago. But you never know. The photobucket link still shows photos of the car.

Have you tried calling any of the phone numbers he provided?

Good idea on the phone number. One never knows. I would pay the $10,000 easy for that car but it was 3 years ago. Someone probably got a bargain.

Hey, thanks for replying.

Figured that with a 3 year old ad. Good luck with your search, they do pop up time to time.
