69 442 convertible for sale. original owner low miles

this one is no joke like my hot wheels thread. i have known of this car for a long time. i think i have talked about it before. it is a 69 442 convertible automatic. original paint and looks near showroom condition. it is white with red stripes and red interior. automatic, he said that he thinks that the shocks tires and exhaust has ben changed. it has ben several years since i looked at it so i can't remember the details more than this. the price is way out of my league so i wanted to see if there is any interest here. he give me first chance and i told him that i could not swing it but i ask if he would let me try to get it to a true Oldsmobile person before he just goes out and sells it to someone else. in this economy it may be hard to sell but it truly is near show room new. i will have to look at it again but i don't think it would take much to make it museum quality. this is not a W-30. this car has not ben messed with and i would bet the build sheet is right where it was when it left the factory. i said original owner but it is the son of the original owner. his parents are gone. if someone is interested let me know and we can talk. i will try to get some pictures soon. the weather is bad here now so i don't think he will even open the door to the garage now.

(well that is if i can get him pictures by then) i think his price is at the top of it's value but like i said, it is as close to show room as i have seen without having gone through a restoration. i talked to him the other day and forgot to ask the miles. he won't open the garage till the weather is better.

white/red is a very nice color combo.

not having a/c hits him in the mouth.

OK, i jumped the gun on posting this when i did. like i said, "it has ben several years since i looked at it so i can't remember the details" well, it may not be as close to a museum piece as i thought but it is very nice. i don't think he will get his $40,000. here are pictures. it looks like the right front finder was repainted but i can't tell for sure. if it was they done a great job of not getting over spray on anything. both bumpers have nice chrome but both have a dint in them. the under side i thought was the original black but it looks like they tried to roll on some rustoleum on the frame at some point in it's history. it is not sloped all over everything but don't look right. with not having A/C, disc brakes, or a 4 speed it is also hurting him. just thought i would finish the post with pictures. it is the original 57,264 miles

Since you didn't ask for it.

I'll donate MHO

I don't think a non a/c car hurts as much in a drop top
I think he's over priced for that grade car
I hate the white walls
It would look better with raised white letters tires on SS IIs
The color of the w-42 hood stipes looks funky [maybe it's the dust you mentioned]
It's hard to tell from the pics but it looks like he's missing that stupid chrome stip at the bottom of the trunk lid

But I love a 69 442
