It's a nice looking car. I wonder if the girl goes with the car
I found this interesting
1971 Olds A bodies got a 10 bolt corporate rear end, not a 12 bolt.
I found this interesting
There is a 12-bolt posi-traction rear-end believed to be original to the car.

On close inspection I believe you're right. I was just quoting the seller.
The front bumper also needs to be properly fitted in the center. Proper spacing on the outside but not gapped properly at the center of the stone shield.

I found it odd too about the seller claiming a 12-bolt, and decided to see if a photo available. Luckily the W30 is an automatic since no documentation available, and the transmission has correct partial VIN stamped into it.

You must have really good eyes to see that on the transmission. The 71 W30 AT should be a TH400 with an OW tag. Where did you see that? Or were you simply stating that the transmission should be able to be easily identified?

I was going by what the seller wrote regarding the matching transmission. If I recall correctly, the partial VIN is also stamped into the transmission's housing.

I’m the owner of the Bittersweet W30 currently being offered for sale on EBay.
To clear up some questions about the car.
Car is a real deal W30. I bought the car off an Oklahoma gentleman who owned the car from 1980-2017 when I bought it. I have a letter of authenticity signed and notarized by the previous owner stating car was a W30 when he bought it.
Car has the OW tranny tag and the tranny VIN matches the VIN on the dash. I talked with Stephen Minore, well known Olds guru and authenticator about this. It is his belief the presence of the OW tag and matching tranny VIN to the car’s VIN on these W’s is just about all the proof you need to know you are looking at a real deal W.
Rear end is a 10 bolt SS 3:23 again further authenticating the car. Not 12 bolt as stated in the EBay ad.
Unfortunately the previous owner never found a build sheet and nor have I.
Lastly, car does not have a number matching engine. Nor, did it when the previous owner bought it in 1980.
Bid with confidence on this car. I’m a proud OCA, NAOC and Archway (St. Louis) Olds member. John.

You never will on a true W30. Lansing was the only factory that produced them and they were meticulous about removing build sheets. You may have a broadcast card somewhere in the car if you're lucky but that's about it.

Miles
Mileage - car has 129,000 miles on it. Previous owner bought it in 1980 with somewhere around 78,000 miles on it. There are many differences/improvements in the car since I purchased the car in July of 2017.
I am selling the car to fund another project.

From post 11 (Texas442), going back to when the car was a barn fine, here is the information you may be looking for. Engine may have the H heads, but unknown if it was a total engine swap since there's nothing in the listing to indicate that. One would hope the H heads were transferred if they knew the value of them.
