1969 Cutlass (22,000 miles)

This is not my car nor do I know the owner. Just thought it was nice looking and thought I'd share.

Wow, that's purty. Well, except for the Chevelle stripes...

Of course, it has new paint, a non-original cutout back bumper, and who knows what else done to it in 22K miles.

The base transmission in the '69 Cutlass S was a three-speed, column-shift manual. The 2-speed Jetaway automatic was one of several optional transmission upgrades (option M31 below).

The TH350 did not become available until part way through the 1969 model year.

Looks to be that in 1969 the Jetaway transmission was an option only available with the low compression Rocket 350 250-hp V8 engine or the 155-hp in-line 6 cylinder engine.

The Jetaway transmission could not be ordered with the 310-hp V8 engine according to the specs/ options as posted above.

Correct, but the version of the SPECS booklet that this info was taken from was published in Oct 1968. Unfortunately I don't have a prior version, or the new product information book from the very beginning of 1969 production. Of course, the car in question is a 2bbl 350.

Nice looking car and great information! I always thought the 3 speeds became standard in '69 and was wondering about the Jetaway myself.
