1965 98 Convertible
SOLD
For personal reasons, I am putting this out there before I put it on the road. If I decide to go ahead and tag it, the price may change depending on how it performs.
78352 miles. (I believe this is correct by observations while working on it)
425 Engine: Removed, disassembled, cleaned and tanked.
Replaced: rod, main and cam bearings (std), rings (std), cam, timing gears and chain, oil pump, water pump, starter, fuel pump, carb. rebuilt.
Heads were not re-done. Dual exhaust installed. Mounts replaced.
Transmission: Fluid and filter change, various seals replaced in attempts to stop leaks. Pan and old oil was clean. Mount and U-joints replaced.
Rear axle: Drain and replaced oil. Gears and old oil looked great and clean.
Body: Removed fenders, fender wells, doors and interior. Patched and sealed floor and trunk floor. Replaced metal in rear quarters behind wheels, joined behind chrome strips. Fender skirts replaced with very good used ones. Old filler was found in right quarter, possible old dent repair.
Lower door skin drivers side was replaced. All was sprayed with epoxy primer while apart, then again after assembly. Painted with 4 coats polyurethane enamel.
Interior: Door panels replaced. Seats rebuilt and recovered. Rear panels were painted. Seat belts not re-installed due to interior color change.
Convertible top installed, new lines and cylinders.
All weatherstrip replaced.
All electrical connections disassembled and cleaned. Harness is in good shape and all electrics function well, with the exception of the radio. Harness modified to add 4 way flasher and replacement of window switches with on-off-on MOM toggle switches.
Brakes- Booster and master cylinder replaced. (Dual), wheel cylinders, lines and brake hardware replaced.
Suspension- Front sway bar bushings replaced. Ball joints and tie rod ends seemed to have no play.
Tires are new.
Undoubtedly some problems will show once it is driven. There are flaws as this was a amateur rebuild, not a professional restore.
Terms of Sale- $6000 USD, buyer to bring cash, with trailer and inspect on site'
Location: Outside of Sistersville WV. Ohio Valley area between Parkersburg and Wheeling

Thanks. When I first started on it I was thinking low rider! But it was moving along slowly and costing so much I had to change direction, or it would not have came this far.

Wow Patrick that is a screaming deal!!!! If it was on the west coast it would be gone by now. Even at your original listing price.
Put an ad up on your local craigslist, then post it on EBAY with the comment "listed for sale locally, reserve right to end auction if it sells first"... it will drive buyers to your craigslist ad. Basically free national advertisement for the car.
Good luck with the sale. regardless of your reason for selling, you should be very proud of how far you've come with this car!
Cheers!

Thanks Ben. I hate selling stuff. On the west coast the Low riders would love it. I prefer it goes to a good home, someone that knows points, drum brakes, carbs, not someone that will toss out the original stuff for 20s, maybe some one that would at least offer the original stuff back to the old car crowd. (N-93 rims), but maybe my hopes are too high.
