Here's yet another one. These seem to be popping up all over all of a sudden. As nice as the car is, I think the asking price on this one of $15K is over the top by quite a bit, but good luck to him. I think he's going to need more than two photos to attract any serious interest. Given that it's not an XS, if he gets an offer of anything over $5,000, he ought to take it.

Is it just because we are car guys that we think of things like that? I would think that anyone posting a car for sale would wash it and take it to a local park to take a few good photos for their ad. Maybe it isn't as common sense as I think...

I think the problem is mostly because craigslist ads are free, so the seller has nothing invested in the ad. If he was paying, say, $50 a month for an ad somewhere, I think he'd be more meticulous and take the time to make a better ad to get his money's worth. He doesn't want to spend $50 month after month any longer than necessary to sell the car.
If enough time passes and he gets tired of looking at the car in his driveway, he might realize that better photos and a better description would help. "One of a kind" or not, these cars are not highly sought-after. As a seller, you want to do everything you can to help yourself sell the car.
One thing I noticed is that he's got apparently new bumper-to-fender fillers on each side, which is good to see as those are a common problem on these cars, but they've not been painted. For his asking price, they should be.
I saw the bumper fillers as well. Do they come in a natural color like that when you order reproductions? Perhaps those are original ones that have faded over the years or from a parts car.
They're off-white, generally. At least the ones I bought were. A photo from the company website is below. Not the greatest photo, but you can see the color.
You're right, it's possible the ones on this car are from a donor car. Regardless, though, he ought to paint them to match.
