1978 Toronado XS

Someone is selling my car! Or so I thought. But then I checked my garage, and, nope, it's still there. Pretty close match, though.

One interesting difference is that his has red pinstripes. Harder to see for sure. Can see it more easily in this photo.

Good eye on the CB. That looks to be an add-on antenna on the left rear fender. My car has built-in, factory CB, and the antenna is the same as the regular radio antenna. You can see it not down all the way on the right front fender. It's a power antenna, and it goes up all the way when the radio is turned on, but it won't go down all the way when the radio is off. I've been afraid to push down on it.

I actually thought of that! But my wife, who is otherwise very supportive of this hobby, would think I had gone nuts, which would be true.

That's the difference between a wife and a car... when the car gives you trouble you can turn it off and fix it.

Does your antenna still work for CB use? I had a triple yellow 78 Cadillac Seville with the CB built in the radio. The dual purpose antenna was broken and I looked for a replacement for the 3 years I owned it. Never could find one or anyone who would repair it before I sold the car.
Looks like yours cleaned up nicely. How'd you get the rust cleaned off?

I actually don't know. I've never tried it. The car is in the shop getting some transmission leaks fixed, but I'll check it when I get it back.

That's a straight car!

The bumper fillers are even in good shape.

The ebay is actually black. It just looked dark red in that first photo. Depends on the angle and the light. It's not so much like my car as I thought.

Yes, the bumper fillers are in good shape. The whole car has been well cared for.
