Hello, for those of you who do not know me, I Love Oldsmobiles and have been an avid Olds Restorer / Collector for a very long time, I currently serve as President of the Minnesota Olds Club as well as serving as a Western Great Lakes Zone director for our beloved OCA.
I am approaching my retirement years and am trying to buy back a lake lot that I owned 13 years ago, because of some health issues I have decided to get an early start on planning my retirement with hopes of enjoying a few years of living on a lake.
I am selling my two red 442's for that sole reason, if you have seen these cars in person, please post a comment about them, if you have not seen them and are interested I can send a ton of pics.
Prices are negotiable as always, but keep in mind these cars are top shelf and I sure would love to see them go to a good Olds home, so if you are interested please make an offer as I need to move on this lakeshore lot and am highly motivated,
Thank you

I have lowered the price in hopes of attracting a buyer before this 1971 442 W30 goes to Barrett-Jackson in January, I have already submitted everything required to Barrett-Jackson and am simply waiting on a lot number which will be right after thanksgiving.
So with the cost of transporting, consignment costs and an 8% commission I realize that I can offer this car at 75,000 or best offer, this is your last chance to save seller and buyer commissions , I can also possibly help with shipping the car reasonably.
This is a OCA Nationals Senior Preservation award winning car! Winning Best of Class and First place awards at the 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 OCA Nationals

I had the pleasure of meeting Dan this past weekend at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN), and also judged his car. We spent an hour going over it during judging, and I can attest to the quality of this car along with how Dan has described it above.
You will have a very hard time replicating this car for the price, and will definitely be proud to own it. It's ready to go have fun, whether you want to show it or do some cruising. Best of luck with the sale, hope it goes to a good home!

Thanks for the kind words guys
I just received my consignment agreement from Barrett Jackson, as soon as I clear the lump in my throat I will be signing the papers and submitting them.
It will go through the auction on Friday the 19th at approximately 3-3:30 an excellent lot assignment

All the new owner had to do was browse a couple Oldsmobile sites prior to the auction and would have saved a hefty penny.

Both the buyer AND seller generally pay a commission to the auction house. In this case the buyer pays 10% of the Hammer price to the house and the seller pays (gets deducted from sale proceeds) 8%.
So the house gets 18% plus the $1,500.00 entry fee.

Dan, good job. Car looks to be worth it.
Stefano, damn, that's some coin there.

auciton fees
Am I the only one that thinks 18% plus listing fee is just too damn much?
#25
18% is indeed a lot.
Just to confirm - the buyer pays 10% _above and beyond_ the hammer price to the house, is that correct?
So in this case the buyer paid $110k, right?

Yes, BJ will list the Hammer price plus the buyers premium as the total sale price on their site. Some auctions like Mecum also charge a buyers premium but do not show it in the prices they post.

I too think the 18% sounds like too much
but BJ brings the buyers with seemingly bottomle$$ pockets
car was listed here for $85K mid-August 2017
price was lowered to $75K mid-November 2017 (3-months)
consigned to BJ
car was hammered "SOLD" for $100K at BJ Scottsdale January 2018 (5-months)
buyer pays $110K
seller gets $90.5K (less transportation costs)
BJ gets $19.5K
all of the above parties should be pleased with that arrangement
