Might have something to do with the fact that at $10K, the asking price is three times the going rate for these cars.
Yeah, it's got 8,000 miles on it. So what? Either you plan to not drive it to keep mileage down, in which case you've tied up $10K on a car that isn't going to appreciate, or you use it, in which case you can get a comparable car for well under $5K. Value requires rarity, condition, AND desirability. Sorry, but these are not popular, collectable cars.
I've bought two of these D88s in the last few years with about 50K miles on them for well under $3K each. Great daily drivers, but no one will pay that premium for a daily driver, and no one will collect these cars.

I'll also add that not driving a car is about the worst thing you can do to it - second only to burying it in a damp time capsule for 50 years.
Expect the miles of vac hoses to be dry and cracked, expect varnish in the carb, expect rubber seals to be dried out, etc, etc.

That's wild. Well if I found one in this condition for $3000-$4000 I would buy. Nice car though. Just sad that an original Olds 2 door car with good interior, exterior and drivetrain with extremely low miles cant pull $8000-$10,000.

And that says a lot when you take into account the fact that those guides are routinely too high in their estimates.

Looking close at the interior photos should raise several questions as well... Why haven't the door panels been cleaned before the photos were taken? Possibly because they are too far gone for cleaning... Also, the headliner area near the windshield and visors are in poor condition, most likely the foam padding has disintegrated... Definitely over priced for the average market... Nice cruiser vehicle but not a high value collectable...

Joe mentioned the vacuum lines, rubber seals and etc, etc. Count on probably at lease another $2,000 - $2,500 minimum. A guy in out Olds club bought an 87 Cutlass a few months ago with 1,200 miles on it. He has replaced belts, hoses and had to have the AC repaired amoung a list of other things. Time and not being driven is not kind to cars.
