Here are a few more pictures of the car. I also have some literature and paperwork for the car including a copy of the dealer invoice (pictured). The car is a consistent show winner including scoring 912 points at the 2010 Nationals.

Had the car out today. More pictures... Noticed some spots of oil in the garage. Passenger valve cover leaking. Will try to change the gaskets. Price reduced to $11,500 / BRO. Motivated seller.

A few more pictures... This is the wife's car. It's driven very sparingly, only for car shows and the occasional cruise. We only drove it 500 miles last year. We are looking to sell because she wants a convertible.

No. It's never been rebuilt as far as I know. It runs great and we've had no issues with it since we've owned it. The power seemed a little off last year so and we had a slight hesitation when cold, so I assumed it was a fuel issue. The carb looked original and the fuel pump still had the factory blue paint on it. I replaced the pump and had the carb rebuilt. I also had a complete tune-up done at my local dealership (plugs, cap, rotor, timing, filters) and they replaced the EGR valve, also. When I got the car in Nov. 2008 from George Berejik he didn't mention anything about motor being rebuilt. He had his dealership redo the exterior cosmetics of the car with all NOS parts. We had the front seats re-upholstered in the original derma grain vinyl and the headliner redone in 2010 just before the 2010 Nationals in Sturbridge, MA. We also put on new tires in 2010 to replace the ones on the car that had been on there for a while. They were starting to dry rot slightly and had some "dead" spots. The car drove much better after that.
We have had the transmission fluid and filter changed, but I don't think that's ever been rebuilt either. We've never had and issues with it. It's a fun summer cruiser especially with the t-tops off. Sadly, we just don't use it too much anymore. It's been fun pulling into a car show with her white car and my black Hurst and parking next to each other. There are usually very few Oldsmobiles at the shows except for our 2 Hursts.

Gene,
Here is one of the pictures I took of your 79 and the wife's 79 parked next to each other. The second picture shows what it looks like when my wife and I attend shows together with our 79's. We have a His and Her pair.

Yes. It is. We posted that on New Years Eve. I took the car out long enough to shoot the video and then put it away. The weather here in Mass is unpredictable. We had a few snow flurries shortly after the video was shot.

Price reduced to $11,000/BRO. Very motivated seller. Wife wants a newer convertible. We have found 2 potential candidates but both want a sizable deposit to hold. I've already sold my 1978 Calais 4-speed and 1978 442 project car. This is the last one to go. Let's talk.

I just joined. I sold my toy (11 Shelby) and I am feeling nostalgic for my first car which was a 1979 Cutlass Calais (non-Hurst) with the 260.
I am very interested in your car, and I am a motivated cash buyer. Being from Ohio, would create some logistical challenges, but nothing that cannot be overcome.
Can you PM me and we can discuss?
Thanks,

More pictures...
Picture 2 shows the only modification from stock - an exhaust system from a 1985-87 442. Still has a cat, but now has the intermediate y-pipe, 2 mufflers, and 2 tailpipes. Otherwise, it's 100% stock.

Looks like a really good job there. Too bad they didn't come up with that set-up in 1979. An now it's virtually impossible to find a correct 1-in-2-out muffler for the 79's. Also, were those front seats re-covered? I thought you might have previously mentioned they were (?)

Yes, the front seats were redone in June 2010 just before the 2010 Nationals in Sturbridge, MA. They were done in the original Camel Tan derma grain vinyl. Still have the receipts from the company that did the work. In fact, I have all receipts from any work that was done to the car since we've owned it.

Yes, the car is still available. We've been busy this summer so I haven't had it out too much to advertise it locally. We've used it for a couple of cruise nights and local car shows this summer, but that's about it. Today is Sat. Sept. 16th and I will be taking the car to a major all-Olds show in Connecticut tomorrow. The show will be held in Southington, CT by the New England Olds Club. They always have a great show and I really like to attend it. According to Mapquest, the new location this year is 110 miles (and a 2hr drive) from my house in MA. The car always performs beautifully on the trip and gets about 20 mpg overall. For a link to the show visit
neolds.com/Showflyer2017.pdf and check it out. You can private message me if you have any questions about the car that haven't been addressed up to now in the posts.
Today I'll be trying to detail the car a bit so it's ready for the judging tomorrow.
Phil
