1970 442 very original but needs minor, work drives like new
I have stumbled on this last week .
1970 442 gold / gold buckets
Automatic with console.
Original 455 engine runs like a champ.
Front driver side fender is goodmark
Passenger fender has a lower patch
The rear lower qtrs have a patch panel
both professionally done
All the rest is original .
I have new front and rear bumpers very nice condition.
New Fender good reproduction
original grill too.
new carpet and headliner needs to be installed.
Front bucket seats need to recovered.
Rears are in xlnt condition.
Floor pans , rocker panels ,and trunk are 100% RUST FREE.
Pics will be up by tuesday afternoon.
As it sits the paint is original so it's faded.
As is needing paint $9700
With a fresh base , clear paint job $12,000

pics of the rear wheel house area.
the pics poor lighting makes it look like it has rust but I assure everybody that it IS NOT RUST.
the undercoating has become dried out....but 100% for sure no rust hiding in it

To be honest I had this car offered to me from a 3rd party.
I only described it as he told me. However to be honest I did look this car over completely today...No rust on the frame rails , floor pan, trunk , doors, qtrs or fenders.
both front and rear windshield are in very good condition..
In my expert opinion you will not need to do any cutting at all.
very solid structure here.
I have owned/operated body shops since 15yrs..

I really doubt this is the same car....
I encourage you to come take another look..
This 442 has no rust at all anywhere on the floor pans/under any seats.
currently it has no carpet and the seats are not bolted in.
I looked throughout the floors...100% clean and no rust or rot .
the QTRS was patched nice, clean & Pro .. all the body lines are
crisp & sharp..
NO RIVETS AT ALL...I will post pics
of the qtrs from the inside and out of the trunk area to show
once I have it on a lift later this week I will attempt to verify if the
drivetrain #'s as well.

I'm confused...are you thinking of buying this car or are you trying to help sell it? It's $9700 as is but for only $2300 more, they'll paint it? I'd go for the $12k just to see what that car would look like with a $2k paint job

From the pics it looks like the exact same car down to the splotch of grey primer on the drivers side rocker panel.
Who ever sent you the photos of the car seemed to purposely leave out any clear view point of the front of the drivers side fender as the one 1970supremevert shows with the large dent.

not if you look closely and what about the areas you can't see especially around the windows - If the VIN plate is that rusty what else is rusting out around the windshield.
primer on top of paint is not a faded original paint job
What does the dash look like and steering wheel, the drivers seat back is leaning way too far back - is is broke?
Passenger seat torn, no pics of seat bottom on other seats.
34467 would be a convertible
it is 344870M15xxxx
It is a 1970 442 made in Lansing

car was built late 69
this info was obtained when I looked at car from CL ad ,the car is still in same spot , veh has not moved in 5 years hard to believe that someone would "post drives like new" when veh has never been driven?? hard to believe that a "Broker" would try to pull a quick one on the owner.. very sad... you should be ashamed of yourself

That's a lot of car not original, is the block matching numbers, how about the trans?

Even a patch panel on oem metal is better then a aftermarket
And it's still welded on to the original sheet metal .
I listed that I have new bumpers , but the current bumpers original
So replate it and its original.
your not interested in buying. Just judging from the sidelines.

You are correct, I am not interested in buying but I am not 'judging!" What I am doing is trying to help others who might in fact be very interested in this car, especially from a far, and not know better to understand what they are "really" looking at. There are not a lot of Old's enthusiasts and it is not easy to find parts or cars except places like this forum. So we tend to look out for each other. I'm just pointing out the obvious discrepancies in your description and the lack of visual proof of the cars real condition.
In many states a car does not have to be titled or registered to be flipped. I know many a person who has flipped cars, so be it, that's not my issue. Being a businessman and an honorable one are two different things.

I really can't understand why my description of this 442 is so much in question.
I have been in the Autobody industry for over 15yrs.
If u wanna ban me please feel free to do so.
I really don't care.
