Alum pulleys

Alum pulleys

I was wondering how can I clean the pulley system on my olds before I put them back on,I tried wd,I was thinking of soaking them in something like simply green
Has anybody have any ideas what's the best,easiest way,

Are they power coated?
If not coated try aluminum jelly on a spot that can't be seen first to see what happens. Can also try wheel cleaner for aluminum wheels (uncoated)

if you have access to a bead blaster that would be ideal....

bead blast,then soft wire wheel,then clear coat my .03
