I've replaced the front drums with discs. I'm having a tough time removing a drum from the plate, it is not attached to the car it is basically from the spindle outward. The wheel adjuster is trashed.

Are these worth the trouble to get apart, clean up and sell or should I just toss them?

Sounds like the shoes have worn a lip in the drum and you won't be able to remove the drum without backing off the adjuster. What I've done in situations like this is to grind off the heads of the two brake shoe retainer pins. This loosens the drums and you'll eventually be able to get the drum worked off. The spindles can be easily converted to disk spindles and the drum hubs are useful for mounting 12" Corvette rotors as a brake upgrade.
