What year 442 had 2 piece rotors?

Hi Guys,

What year did the 442 switch from 2 piece front brake rotors to 1 piece? I was thinking it was before 1970 but when I took the wheels off my beater 70 W30 it had a 2 piece rotor on the pass side and a 1 piece rotor on the driver side. I thought they switched to one piece by 1970 but it does show a 2 piece rotor in the 1970 Olds Cutlass Service Manual. I've also read online that they made the switch from 2 to 1 piece in the middle of the 1970 model year. So does anyone know the real story?

thanks,
bob

They had a two piece rotor in '67 and '68 and -my '69 Vista also had two piece rotors but with the single piston caliper... four piston calipers on the '67 and '68...

Some of the early 70's came with the 2-piece rotor.I have 70,with 47,000 miles, that was built in October,1969,and it still has both.
