Poportioning valve leak!

I have a disc brake conversion standard proportioning valve that mounts under the master cylinder on my 72 Cutlass. It is leaking brake fluid out of or around the hold off valve. I tried tightening it and also pushing in the rod to no avail. Any suggestions??
Thanks

Is this an original GM part , pre 71 style?

Karps in California should be able to rebuild it. They did my prop valve.

No, it's the newer style that comes with most of the conversion kits. It's brand new. I was wondering before the warranty hassles, or buying a new one, if it maybe was just something simple.
Thanks
Kevin
