71 W30 Master Cylinder ?
Hello all,
Is the master cylinder and proportioning valve the same for power and manual disc brakes? If not, can someone please tell me part numbers for these parts, so I can verify what I have? And source them if I did not get these with the parts for this car.
Thank you,
John

The non power master cylinder will have 2 bails, one at each end, instead of the one long bail as most power brake cars have.
I think the combo proportioning valve is physically the same on the outside as a power disk brake valve, the inside is different. This is explained in the 71 Service Chassis Manual.

Thanks Don!
Not sure what you mean by bails.
I was just paging through the service manual and didn't really see anything on the proportioning valve. I'll have to sit down and do some reading when I have more time. Our youngest is graduating high school Saturday and the honors ceremony is tonight. She made Magna *** Laude and has been 4.0 all 4 years of high school.
Hoping to get inventory on all the parts I got with the car before Monday. We'll see how that works out. The graduation party is not until next weekend, so that might happen.
Again, thanks for all the help! Hope I'm not wearing this out, but I am excited about getting going on this car!
Thanks again to all,
John
