Bleed master cylinder?

Bleed master cylinder?
I'm going to replace my master cylinder and bleed all brake lines (disc front, drum rear).
Is it necessary to bench bleed the master cylinder first? I never did before, but that was 4 wheel drums long ago in a far away galaxie (or maybe it was a Mustang)...
Is it still start bleeding at the furthest wheel from the MC and work my way closer?
TIA

Oh yeah. And it's got to be LEVEL when you do it.
Yeah, farthest to closest, but don't obsess about it.

Don't even think about installing the master without bench bleeding...you will be taking it back out and installing it again.
it's not that difficult..they make a kit, with fittings that attach to the out ports, and you submerge them in the filled master cylinder.
Actuate the master cylinder piston until all bubbles are removed.
I also install speed bleeders on the front...one man operation...open the bleeder and pump the pedal...bleeder has a one way check valve...awesome invention.
