Rear trunk brace or cross rail

Has anyone tried to use the '68 - '69 GTO or Chevelle rear cross rail on a Cutlass? I'm referring to the brace that runs along the rear edge of the trunk floor and sits on the rear most body mounts. I don't mean the frame cross rail at the rear of the frame. I'm working on a '72 convert and the GTO and Chevelle pieces look identical to the Cutlass one. It doesn't mean they are the same but why couldn't they be modified to fit?

Since the '68-'72 trunk floors seem to be interchangeable I would think the last bend as the trunk floor goes up would be the same on all the A-body cars. Which would mean that part of the cross rails would be the same. The only difference I could see would be the length since they attach to the trunk floor drop downs and they are all different.

Anybody done any comparisons?
