Roof Rust on a '58

Roof Rust on a '58
Hey everyone. Some questions about my car for ya. I'm picking up a '58. Most of the body is in good shape. Floors were done previously, however, the roof looks to be in rough shape. I have a little experience in body work, but not much in welding, especially not something like a roof. Trying to find some opinions on the best course of action here. The rust has eaten through the outer layer of the roof, hasn't made it's way to the inner. Would I be best off dropping the car at a body shop and having them fab it all together? I really doubt I'll be able to find a roof skin anywhere for this car. I'd rather not cut it out and fill it, as I feel that's the easy way out.
Thanks in advance

Brian, what's your location? Not long ago there was a Craigslist ad from someone in Roseburg Oregon who had two 1958's and one 1959 Oldsmobiles for sale. Pretty complete cars, just sitting for many years. If you were close enough to make it worth while I'd say cut the roof off a parts car and weld it onto you car.
