Don't forget to check alignments of all parts
This week end I was installing my rear bumper. During my build I had to replace my entire trunk floor with the drops. When I put everything together I had the body on the frame squared everything up took measurement's before welding it all in. What I didn't do was install the rear bumper to check the side clearances of the rear quarters to the bumper ends. With my car painted now I was left to tweaking the ends of my bumper to fit the body. Luckily I was only off a 1/4" to 3/8". My rear bumper will need to be re-chromed an lucky I caught this now.
I just want to pass on this info so if any of you are at this point DON'T SHORT CUT!!!!

Good info...never done learning.
Another tweak that would improve overall bumper appearance on any car is the custom trick of tucking the bumper ends in by cutting and rewelding the ears to get them tight to the quarters. Nice subtle custom touch. Foose Kindigit etc...have proven this.
Never use a bumper jack again but you really shouldn't on a 68-72 anyway. It damages/dimples the thin bumpers.

With this being my first rodeo it has been a constant learning process, I feel lucky that I was as close as I was. I got this in BIG BOLD LETTERS NOW TO REMEMBER!
