A Question of Time

I've recently been quoted paint, body and convertible top work on a '71 Cutlass Supreme convertible. The shops are reputable and the prices seem in line with what I've found elsewhere, but the length of work sounds unusually long to me; 3-4 months for paint and body and 2 months for a convertible top. I can see the paint job maybe taking that long, but 2 months for a convertible top? Perhaps someone who's already had this work done can chime in and enlighten me here.

3-4 months for a complete quality paint job is good.
A top install only takes a day or two, bit more it any of the mechanics needs attention, but not months.
