Exclamation 1967 F85 trim fasteners

I have a 67 F85. I removed the chrome hood strip to re-chrome it. I need to get new fasteners to reattach it but I don't know what they are called or where to find them. Are they push caps?

I moved your post to it's own thread, where you'll get more visibility than resurrecting a four year old thread that isn't even related to your year.

Which hood trim? The spear down the center or the leading edge? The leading edge trim uses stamped sheet metal thread cutting nuts called pal nuts that thread onto the integral posts on the backside of the trim. If this is used trim, you need to be sure to use the existing threads cut in the posts.

67 F85- hood chrome

Thanks for your help with this. Yes, it is the center spear that runs down the middle of the hood. I need to find the fasteners to reattach it. It seems like the posts are threaded but spaced out a lot.

Yeah, this is what you want. Note that these have sealer pre-installed. If you get the nuts without the sealer, use some seam sealer around the stud when you install the trim.

As Joe said, you would use a larger Pal nut to secure the hood spear. Check you local Ace Hardware, they have the most comprehensive assortment of hardware of any place I have ever seen (in person).
