1964 Vista Cruiser tailgate glass regulator

Newbie here, I am looking for a diagram of the tailgate window and regulator assembly on my newly purchased 64 Vista Cruiser as the motor is missing and possibly some of the mechanism. Also can anyone tell me if the motors are still available.

Thanks

The tailgate glass and motor are the same on the VC and on flattop wagons. the diagrams and information are in Vol 5 of the 1864 Chassis Service Manual.

Note that due to the April 1864 release of the Vista, it is not explicitly covered in the 1964 CSM, however nearly everything is the same as on the flattop wagons. You actually need both the 64 and 65 CSMs to get complete coverage of the 64 Vistas.

If you are going to be working on this car, you really should buy your own set of the CSM volumes. While folks here are happy to help with problems, what you are really asking is "can someone ELSE pay for a manual, copy it, and send me the info so I can have it for free."

I will be ordering a set of manuals ASAP but as you may see I am in the UK and need to get the tailgate working ASAP as need to transport a mobility scooter and it will take a couple of weeks for the manuals to get to me. I only wanted a picture to see what parts I have broken or are missing so I can hopefully get the fault rectified ASAP. I wouldnt expect someone to copy me a diagram or page every time something breaks on it.

And, amazingly enough, the manual was good for 100 years, being just as valid for the 1964 models as it was for the 1864s. Of course, by 1964, that original 1864 manual was a bit dog-eared.

Sorry Joe. Make the mistake once, and we can let it go. But twice in the same message? Nope. Going to pile on!

Just proves that my fat fingers are consistently misguided.

Thanks Joe that will be a big help to find what parts are missing when I get it this week. Will order the 1964 manual ( not the 1864 one LOL ) and then hunt down the missing parts

Do you know parts are missing, or do you just suspect it? As I noted, the good news is that these are common on all 64-67 A-body wagons (allowing, of course, for power vs. manual window options). If the window simply isn't working, there are often very easy fixes (like the main power relay under the dash goes bad).

I know at least the motor is missing, not sure on anything else till I get it this weekend. Guy I'm buying it from says currently glass is held up with two blocks of wood 😳
