Paint less dent removal ?
Anyone had any experience with this method or had it done to your car? This isn't for my 55 Old's but my ricer Miata which is very thin skinned at best.
The dent mysteriously appeared when I smacked the side of the garage while trying to back out over a pile of ice/snow that had accumulated off of the roof. Dent popped out about 70% by hand but left a slight imprint on the front wheel arch. It is maybe 1/4 inch deep at the most and 5 inches wide over the wheel arch and bottom edge of the fender. Stupid stupid mistake on my part.
Do they do as good as advertised? I don't want this car to look like a side view a bag of walnuts when their done it was a pretty pristine car for being 25 years old and once they start to look ragged it's so easy to just to let them go to pot from there..... Tedd

The best thing to do is take it to a reputable guy. We had a guy that did all my used cars on the lot. There are limits like if the dent is creased or on a body form line it won't work. They can do wonders in most cases.

I'll agree with Eric, used to work with a guy that had a full arsenal of paintless dent repair tools. He told me about the same as Eric, he did the tank on my 1980 Yamaha xt250 and it came out pretty good for thicker metal and going through the gas filler.

One of my friends has made his living for 20+ years doing this. He is good. But as Eric said some are not able to fix to perfection. He can make the bad ones a lot easier on the body/paint guy though.
He just did a bunch for me recently, fascinating to watch, now you see it, now you don't.
I was pulling a stump from a holly bush with my truck and broke the chain. beat the fire out of my tailgate. We took it off and worked on a bench. He pushed all the dents out, really worked up a sweat. But the dents were so deep the paint was cracked after he was done. Looks way better without dents, after a little polishing, only close inspection shows the paint cracks.

A few years ago a storm came through at the Back to the Fifties car show in St Paul, a tree branch came down on the front fender of my survivor 54 Chev and left a S shaped dent 3/4 inch wide 5 inches long 1/4" deep. The body shop told me to try paintless dent removal first because of the difficulty in matching 60 year old wore out paint. I know were the repaired spot is but still have to look around to find the exact spot The paint didn't even crack!

When my wife and I bought our Ford Flex it suffered from a hail storm right before we closed the deal. It wasn't destroyed by the hail, but the damage was extensive on the hood, roof and tailgate. The Ford stealerships paintless dent repair guy did wonders. There were only two small dings left at the top curve of the tailgate .

Well guys as soon as it quits raining I'm going to set up a appointment. I'll let you know how it comes out. To have it done the old body fender and paint fix way they wanted $700 bucks. I can buy a new fender for less than $200 but I would have to fit and paint it myself so I'm going to try this paintless process. Thanks for the information....Tedd

It cost me $550.00 just to get 4 new bumper fillers painted here.
I also paid $1295.00 to have the front fascia on my black G8 painted from all the salt and stone chips last spring.
So far its standing up well to the new paint job thou.
I don't think $700.00 is a terrible price for a fender straighten and painted myself.

Here's the deal, made a appointment to meet the paintless guy at the local Walmart parking lot for a estimate and a repair if he could do it. Took him about a hour and the only spot he couldn't fix was something I did trying to pop out the fender after I hit the garage support . Super job, you couldn't tell that there was a dent there at all. I'll do a little touch up on the spot I messed up and it will be as good as new.Cost was $200 bucks and I'm a happy camper....... Tedd

I can get a door painted here for $400.00.
I had a 71 Cutlass hood put in primer after I sanded and prepped it. That cost me $100.00
I forgot what the paintless dent guy charges, but it's not much and he's real good.
