I got a glasstek OAI for my 69 cutlass. I got the front trim to fit real good but I can't get the trim by the windshield to fit correctly anyone else have this issue ang how did u fix it

I've looked into putting an OAI hood on my 69 as well, and I've heard this is a common problem. The fiberglass is too thick (from what I've read) and the trim is a challenge to install.

Sorry I can't help, but you're not alone so somebody should be able to assist.

doesn't the back trim just pop in to the lip ??? If so you can grab plastic trim removal tools which taper and run it along the channel on the trim to open it up carefullly or shave down the lip. If the hood is already painted there is a few tricks to no ruin the paint.

I shaved it down and have the trim fitting good but in the ends the trim won't sit flat it sorta rolls up and didn't line up with the fender trim

If that's the case then the rear lip on the hood is likely molded at the wrong angle. The factory hood rear lip is metal (on both OAI glass/metal hoods and non-OAI all metal hoods) so the rear lips can be bent/manipulated somewhat.

If the stainless trim piece isn't clamping back down/clamping shut enough that could also cause the trim piece to sit at the wrong angle at the ends but from my experience it's usually the angle of the lip on the rear of the hood that causes the problem. You see it sometimes on factory hoods that have been set down too hard or dropped and the rear lip corners get bent upwards.

The thickness of the factory hood rear lip isn't much...approx 5/32" thick.
