OAI Hood Repair

Hello all,

I've been detailing the engine compartment of my black 71 442 and the adhesive has come loose where the fiberglass skin meets the "duct" part of the hood. Sorry not sure what the plastic or fiberglass section between the fiberglass skin or shell and the metal underside of the hood is called. The adhesive has failed on both outer sides of the "duct" and up front at one of the scoop's inlet. What is the best adhesive to use in these spots? I was thinking about using body seam sealer, but wanted to see if anyone else has repaired these hoods and what was used.

3M has a panel adhesive and or a 2 part epoxy adhesive, go to a good autobody supply store and ask and they will help,
its been a few years but the 3M stuff is the best, Tim

Yep 3M 8115 panel adhesive, you may want to take the hood off car and lay bottom side up to make it easier to apply
