Lower fender repair trick.

When my bodyman repaired the rust on my lower fenders, he had me get 2 patch panels for both sides. He used one to form a new inner brace and the other for the skin. Very clever......and "price competitive". (aka-cheap)

i used one fender patch per side. I grabbed 2 scrap fenders from a totaled civic which where free and i cut the bottom of them out and cut holes to give a it a factory apperance and welded them to my old ones. I then welded it to the bottom of the fender. When i was restoring my cutlass i took as much scrap as i could from the shop to cut down on cost. I was 17 and had a very limited budget. I do like the idea of using another patch panel to get the same contour on the inside. I never thought of that
