'71 pin stripe gold color code "D" or 23517 on PPG paint chip sheet
Well,
Here I was yesterday putting the stencil tape on my 442 for the pin stripes. Finished and went to set up to spray the gold paint ('71 gold strip code "D" or code 23517) and what to my surprise when I opened the can of laquer that I had mixed 3 months ago was paint that to me looks like olive green, not gold! I swear I opened that can when I purchased it and it was gold in color. Maybe I am getting too old for this but...
Does anyone have original gold stipes that they could take a picture of or does anyone have a color chip of the "D" / 23517 gold strip paint called out on the PPG paint guide sheet for '71 that they could take a picture of?
Does that gold look like a yellow gold or is that an olive green gold?
Thanks guys.

Yes,
I painted on scrap the same color as the car, ebony black, on a console that is gold and also compared to a gold paint I had from a 73 Vega (unfortunately this paint is 25 years old and not usable). Although I did not expect the other colors to match they did have quite a bit of yellow color normal for gold and the 23517 is olive green. I even surveyed 4 people in various age groups and came up with brown or olive green in apparence.
