Hi Has anyone used the Eastwood chrome spray on plastic trim, I need to chrome my headlight bezels/surrounds.

Use Chrometech, a vendor that applies vacuum metallizing.

None of the sprays work well.

Most if not all that have that high luster chrome look are very soft and will abrade easily. If the part doesn't get rubbed on or scrubbed it may last a while, but it ain't tough... Tedd

Would clear coat on top of the chrome spray work, help, hurt?

I just tried this on some brackets. The Chrome paint looked closer to polished steel or Aluminum. I sprayed it with clear coat and it gives it a nice deeper polished look. Not Chrome by any stretch of the imagination. Also make sure the clear coat is compatible with the chrome.

FYI

Molotow Liquid Chrome pens work pretty well for smaller jobs on plastic trim.

I am using one for some plastic trim inside my 84 H/O.

They are available in several sizes, fine thru thick

Looks much more chrome than a silver sharpie.

They are great for touching up chromed parts.

Thanks for the response, I want to use it on the headlight bezels, a lot of the trim on my Toro is stainless so it may match ok.

Have you thought about the chrome Vinyl Wrap . I know it would be more durable for exterior applications. They wrap whole cars with it so it has to be very stretchable.
eBay has it in various sizes and a 12" X 60" size is only $8.44. Good luck,Larry

Bill, I Hope you give that a try.I watched a couple of You Tube Videos, and they used a hair dryer to make the vinyl stretch .Don't look too difficult. Let us know how it turns out.

Bare Metal Foil is best if you want to take that route.
