72 oldsmobile cutlass 442 convertible

I am hoping for some help. I am looking at buying my fiance a new boot cover for his 72 oldsmobile cutlass 442 convertible. We currently have it in storage and don't want to ruin the surprise. Question is when shopping online there are 2 options one with clips and the other without. Does anyone know what is factory for this car?

72 parade boot cover should have the plastic that slides under the chrome trim. That trim piece is called pinch weld molding.

Because most places offer a range to cover many years as some parts do over lap. Every once in a while you will see a 1970 - 72 with snaps installed on the pinch mold so folks order that one. Many of the repo places are incorrect on some parts for the application. So don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you again! To be clear I should most likely get the one with clips correct not the one with the plastic slides?

Actually, as Steven stated if your 72 hasn’t been changed over time it will need the boot with the “plastic slides. The picture is the underside. The plastic slides are by my finger tips.

Where did you order yours from? Was it the correct fit?
