So you guys think you have big blocks

I don't buy the global warming hogwash but I think a lot of things they are doing is a good thing. In our large cities the smog is affecting peoples health. Then if you look around at all the traffic on the roads today it boggles the mind that they are able to make enough gasoline to fill them all. Sooner or later the oil is going to run out and if they don't have an alternative available we are all going to be in trouble. I think when they are able to make an electric car that the batteries are reasonable in price I will consider buying one. Most of the time we don't drive beyond the range of what the batteries are now. They will get better at it. At least if the car is electric they won't have all the emission control junk that is screwing up the cars now.

Big Block...that's not a big block(knife)...this is a big block(knife).
Big IC engine is where I cut my teeth for years. Bigger the better I say! OK yes, stationary engines.
42 liters thats 2563 cubic inches in a mobile application! 28.4 is no slouch either.
I've had my hands on the tiny 36-48 liters and on up to the AT and GL series Waukeshas. That's up to18,000 C.I. (or 285L) That and all other medium-sized NG IC and Large diesels...Cat 35 & 36 series, Detroit 16V149s. thats 149 CI per each of the 16 cylinders. Some were merely pony motors to start large Gas Turbine Power Plants.
I say medium duty as compared to the Locomotive and container ship engines. I've seen a few GE, White Superiors, Fairbanks and Wärtsilä-Sulzers in person but never wrenched on the beasts. That's big stuff.
