square bore vs spread bore

Anybody ever run a square bore Holley on a spread bore manifold, did it work ok? Can it be run without an adapter plate?

It will not mount without an adaptor, you'll have vacuum leaks. It's been done with an adaptor forever with success. I prefer going with an aluminum manifold setup for a square bore.

Only if the intake manifold is drilled with a dual bolt pattern to accept either type of carb flange.

It is drilled with a dual pattern, I was more concerned with sealing, it seems like it only has about a 1/4" around the secondary flange.
