Is there any shorty headers for 455?
Looking for headers that will not drag on the floor that I don't have to pay a small fortune for.

No, other than center dumps, which won't work. The SBO Sanderson are tiny 1 5/8" primary tube. The Hedman for the SBO might work, you would have to try them.

I have a set of the Hedman shorties that I am going to run on my street rod. They look like they would work on any A or G body with any engine combo.

Why not the W & Z cast iron headers?

Shorty headers and W/Z manifolds have no real performance benefits. They just fit a little better. Long tubes are for performance.

correction, the 455 Sanderson headers are 1-7/8" dia. I am using them on my 48 Olds because of clearance issues

I don't think I can run those in my Cutlass. I guess my only option is American Racing or raise the car back up. I think all the other headers are hanging way too low. My hooker headers on my 350 are only couple of inches of the ground. My car is lowered I had to put 1/2" spacer in my spring cause I couldn't get out of my driveway without scraping. I don't want to that with 455.

I used Sanderson shorties on my '67 Delmont 88 with a 455. It took a lot of work and, if long tube headers would have fit, I definitely would have used them.

I clicked on the Summit link and watched the video they have. It is very informative about the difference between full length and shorty headers. The Hedman shorties do not fit a 455.

American Racing headers are the way to go. If I ever swap headers, they would be my only choice worth buying.

I ended up buying Doug's ceramic coated. It seems better quality than hooker. Made out of thicker steel. I will post how they fit in few weeks when they arrive with the engine. $729 free shipping.

I know this thread is nearly 3 years old, but I would love to see how well these headers fit your car. Here's hoping the OP will post some pics.

You are slow. He bought American Racing at some point and was unhappy with them.Maybe he will post back.

I ended up returning Doug's headers, driver side fit ok but passenger wouldn't even bolt up. After they were returned I spoke with a tech from Doug's, he said they it was their mistake and headers were not built right from the factory. he also mentioned I wasn't the only one with the issue.
So I went with ARH and after some modifications they are in the car. On ARH I had to tweak the driver side.
I started thinking maybe it's my car, but my old Hooker headers ($50 at the swap meet) fit with no issues so it couldn't be the car.
If I had to do it all over again, I would go with DMR headers.
