Roller Lifters with a flat tappet cam?

Just wondering with the low zinc oils being a problem with flat lifters, can a guy use rollers lifters until he gets around to changing the cam out?

If so, what would need to happen with the push rods?

How does everyone get around using expensive specialty oils?

NO! The cam is made for flat lifters. The cam is made with a slight taper for the flat tappets and also the lobe profile is an entire differant animal. You will just have to buy good oil or a quality additive. I don't like additives other than breakin so i started buying Brad Penn.

Just use Valvoline VR1 Racing oil and call it a day. It's not that much more than regular oil and it's good to go for any flat tappet cam. It has a high ZDDP content...I use it in all of my cars, even the silver car that has a mech. flat tappet cam with a fairly aggressive cam profile.
