1968 400 #s

A few years ago I picked up what I thought was a correct 1968 442 400 engine. I had stuffed it in a corner and not looked at it in awhile. I was checking the block and head casting numbers today and just wanted to verify what I found. The block is a 68' 400 with a casting # of 396026G, but the "C" heads have a casting # of 394 548. I think these are 425/455 heads for 68'? Just curious.

Thanks,
Richard.

All C heads have the same casting number and were used on ALL 1967-69 big block motors (E block 400, G block 400, 425, and 455).

Thanks Joe, good to know it is probably an original motor.

Richard.
