1969 455 cutlass engine swap parking brake cable not installing properly

I am not sure what section to post this in. I have tried a search with no luck. I have a 1969 cutlass that had a 350/350 set up. I have swapped it out to a 455/400 set up. In doing so once i moved the crossmember back and bolted everything up. i went to reinstall the parking park componets. something is not right

The parking brake cables seem to be too long now. i have all three hooks in place and when i run the cable from the front of the car to the rear section of parking brake cable there is way to much slack? can someone please tell me if i have to get a different cable or what i am be doing wrong. Thanks in advance. i will try to get a picture of it to post up.

You'll need the cable that runs from the parking brake towards the rear.

Wagner part #BC105968....about 20 bucks, here is an example:

Yes is the center cable.

Sorry I gave you wrong info, looking at the wrong section in the manual.

Actually, you need to replace BOTH the front and center cables. The front cable (the one that goes to the pedal) is longer due to the relocated crossmember. The center cable is shorter due to the relocated crossmember.

Front cables are available from RockAuto, though interestingly they don't list them for Cutlii, only for Chevelles. Try these part numbers:

Dorman - C92394
Raybestos - BC92394
AC Delco - 18P2287
Wagner - BC72922

Center (intermediate) cables in the correct length go by these part numbers:

Dorman - C92352
Raybestos - BC92352
Wagner - BC105968
