water pump rebuilld

Anyone use any of these companies linked below or can you recommend a company you used to rebuild my stock water pump for my W30? Thanks.

I used Arthur Gould Rebuilders.
Very pleased with their work.
However, I just noted that they have moved and are under new ownership.
Their website has the same content as before, just reformatted.

New address - 789 Wachusett St., Holden, MA 01520
Old Address - 5R Main Street ● Kings Park, NY 11754

All removed pieces were returned as requested.

Good to hear, I saw their website as well, but after looking at their content I thought it was more of an industrial type parts supplier than a hobbyist water pump rebuild place. I'll check into that one more.

Any one else have recommendations. I'm just a bit hesitant to send parts out for rebuild to places I can't follow-up with locally.

Steven, the link to the Flying Dutchman rebuilder shows them as located in Selma Oregon. That's a wide spot in the road maybe an hour from me. It might be a week or so before I can drive down there, but I can check them out for you. If his price is reasonable I might as well have one rebuilt for my 1970 442. If your not in a hurry I can let you know how it goes with mine.

I would recommend Bill Mock. He has been rebuilding water pumps for the corvette guys for over 30 years. He did the original pump on my Vette about 2 years ago. Great guy. Www.mockauto.com. His site only shows chevrolet but I spoke to him about doing my Olds and he said he could do it no problem.

I used The Water Pump Man 3 times myself and would still use him. I did have a problem with one but he made it right without hesitation. http://www.waterpumpman.com/index.html

I picked this guy as John said he would be happy to follow-up if I had issues (I know others on this site would have too - thanks).

Got the pump back already, looks great. Wade was excellent with communicating with me quickly and often. Very helpful over the phone. Made it very easy to do business with him.

Glad to hear your happy with his work Steven! Maybe next summer I'll go through the engine for my 1970 and have him do mine.

Hello, this is probably going to be a dumb question. I just ran across this thread, reading about you guys sending your water pumps off to get rebuilt. Is this because you can't get one from Rock Auto, or Autozone, or is this because you want to preserve the original part? I looked up the water pump for my 65 Starfire and it looks like there is more than one that fits. Perhaps this is why you rebuild, so you are guaranteed to get the right part?

Thanks!

John

Most people have the original pump rebuilt because it has the correct casting number and date. Only if you want to retain all of the installed parts from the factory, to supposedly keep "numbers matching", is this necessary.

Interesting, I did not know that a water pump would have a matching casting number to the engine. Thanks for the answer.

Cheers,

John
