New 400E and 425 Pistons

Just spoke with my contact at Mahle and we're moving forward on the new Olds pistons for 400E and 425 engines.
Compression distance will be 1.625 with a 10cc valve trough. Bore sizes are 4.065, 4.100, 4.155 with their new 1.00, 1.00, 2.00mm ring pack and made from their proprietary coated 4032 material. Wrist pin will be a full floating .984 to accommodate honing rods to size. Sale price should be the same as a typical SBC Mahle flat top.
At 10cc and with that cd the measured compression ratios will be around 9.3-9.7:1 with the various combinations and typical stock deck heights, gaskets, and iron head chamber sizes.
Looking for a launch in the next few months. Comments?

Thats great to hear for those who have those blocks still, and want to rebuild their engines, but I am just not sure how many will actually be sold this late in the game. But still sweet for some.

I agree but remember all these sizes will fit in a 350 or 400E. The only one that's exclusive at all would be the 4.155 for a 425. I thought about doing that one in a 4.165 but....
And as Fun71 stated, anyone with 400/425 cranks can now do a more modern build. This will be a quality piece, head and shoulders above the Egge/Kantor stuff for not that much more. Their pistons aren't really that cheap if you consider what you're getting, 50 year old technology.
The plan is to have them make 5 sets of each bore size and go from there. We may find out one is more popular than another etc. That's why this post and the small initial batch size.

Thanks!!
