455 Motor Mounts

I just received a set of 455 motor mounts from Rock Auto (maybe a mistake, that's why I'm here), one of which is pictured below, for my 70 cutlass S and they don't appear to be anywhere near what is in my parts manual. Best I can tell is they are designed to take the place of the motor and frame mounts and bolt directly to the frame bracket. Or they are just not the right mount. Anyone have any ideas? And if they are correct, what sort of issues will I run into as opposed to the factory style? Thanks in advance.

They are not the right mount for your car.

That mount is for the 1965-1970 full size cars (Eighty Eights and Ninety Eights). Not even close to correct for your A-body.

There are several threads about motor mounts for the 455. I had to get 350 mounts. Motor mounts are best to get locally, that way you can take old ones and compare before buying them.
Email rockauto explain and send photo, they will refund you your money and/or give you a label to send them back. They gave me money back on a ball joint, and let me keep it.

Thanks Joe....Now I can be specific as to how Rock Auto goofed. You've always got the answers and I'm sure everyone can agree that we're glad to have you around to help us out.

Thanks for the info. I looked through some of the other threads before posting this but couldn't find anything specific to what I got from RA. As for RA I've used them in the past and they're always good about returns. They even refund the return shipping when it's they're fault.

Agree with the buy it local recommendation. I stay away from the big chain stores. No one knows their A++ from their elbow.
