Vendor recommendations for 455 parts

Hi folks,
I just had a pretty bad interaction with Lynn at Mondello and I have been searching through the forum to try and find where I should go. I don't want to get burned again. What are your recomendations?

Can't say but I can say BMR is awesome, even 5 years after buying parts Bernard will still offer support and advice.

Bad experience with Lynn? Who could imagine such a thing? 🙄.

I have a 455 that wasn't assembled properly (bearing tolerances were likely too tight) and it wiped the crank and a rod after 800 miles. I am looking to rebuild it with a new crank and add in a roller cam. I am going assemble it myself. I just want a reputable dealer to get all my parts and who can help me choose what is right - not sell me stuff I don't need.

I have dealt with Smitty at MJ Performance, do not go near him. Rocket Racing was good, got a part wrong but sent me the right one at no extra cost. Mark Remmel, Cutlassefi is great to deal with, probably dealt with him for 10 years. Anytime he has made a mistake, not often, he sent me the right part at no extra cost to me. The people who dog him on this site have never personally dealt with him, so pay no attention to them.

How bad did it hurt the crankshaft ?? The first thing I would do is have your present crankshaft checked to see if it can possibly be reground to an undersize. If so it would save you quite a bit of money. If all you need is a single stock connecting rod then they are easily available.

Is this a basically stock engine or lots of modifications ? More details would help

Great minds think alike. The crankshaft is currently being looked at by the machine shop, and I just got a connecting rod from ebay in the mail today.
