Question about the 1972 L75 455...

Greetings to all ye Oldsmobiles! I hope everyone is doing well😀

I've recently learned that the L75 4 speed engines were equipped with the larger 2.07 valves and the W30 cam. Was this also true for the automatics as well?

Thanks, and happy Oldsmobiling!😀

1972 L75 MT engines used the 409691 cam.

1972 W-30 OAI MT engines used the 409759 cam.

There is about 8° more duration on the 409759 versus the 409691.

Further to green's comment, the 409759 is the same pattern as the 1970 442 MT cam, except ground a few degrees retarded.

455 AT used the 400117 cam, a big step down in performance.
