Pointless module
#42
1. M&H / Breakerless SE - use resistance wire (low voltage) and follow coil requirements in instructions
2. NOS GM Points - use resistance wire (low voltage)
3. Anything else - likely needs full +12v to work correctly
Edit: and before someone starts comparing my list to HEI, MSD, or magnetos, my opinion is framed for use in stock points-type distributors in stock appearing applications.

You described the module sold by M&H Electric. Of the ten or so I've installed for friends over the last 20 years, to my knowledge, none has failed. Go to http://www.breakerless.com/, they even include some press clippings.
We've had some discussions on CO about this module as well. I don't remember any unfavorable comments.
They claim the module "design compensates for worn (distributor) bearings," which would address one of your wants.

Pertronics was never on the table especially after it caused an engine to detonate in a boat I had converted in the 90's.
The pics I put up made it pretty clear which kit I installed.
In all the discussion the 6v 12v thing I thought pertained to the M&H kit, and it does not.
Its all good in the hood, thanks for the advice.
