No Fuel to the Carb!

No Fuel to the Carb!
Hi Guys,
I have a fresh rebuilt Q-jet on my new engine. When i pour gas in the vent tube the car fires up until it runs dry. I pulled the inlet hose downstream of the pump and it is squirting fuel. Seems to be past that is the problem. I really don't want to tear into the carb. Anything I'm missing?
Thanks
Craig

Craig,
Try pulling the filter out of the carb and see if by chance it was installed backwards. If it is in correctly, does it have fuel on it? If so, try tapping on the carb where the needle/seat may be to see if the needle could be stuck. Or instead of tapping on the carb, get the car over to Los Angeles and maybe the earthquakes will shake it loose.
