MSD 8566 or MSD 8529 for the street
8529 has a vacuum advance and 8566 doesn’t. Which one is better for a 10:1 street application with, say, headers, 2500 stall, 230 @ .050, an 850 vac secondary carb, and 3.73 gear
I ask because there is a new 8566 with an MSD 6AL unused in the box for $200 for sale online. Seemed like an okay deal

IMO that's still a mild build. 230 duration on a 455 isn't asking too much.
Vacuum advance is still very useful for any part throttle cruising, such as driving down the street or on the highway.
I'd buy that combo, then either get a plain distributor with an advance, or better yet move up to a 6AL-2 programmable, then sell the unused parts.
