Moving to a BBO

I acquired a 67 425 with a spun rod bearing. The previous owner didn't know what it was, other than it was an Oldsmobile engine in his Chevy C10 pickup and it knocked real bad. He thought he had a 455, and after driving there I wasn't too concerned with the engine not being a 455 core.

I'm looking to build a hot street engine that will see occasional track use I'm sure, for a full weight 72 Supreme. My cam/lifters failed shortly after my car was painted, and I really don't feel like sinking a bunch of money into the 350 at this point.

I tore the engine down last night, and the crank appears to have been pounded a bit from the bearing spinning, making the journal out of round bottom of the rod with a very noticeable ridge between the 6 and 7 rod journals. Everything was STD size, but someone has had the C heads off at some point, I'll delve into those later.

I've been trying to figure out what I should do to put this back together. I've been mulling over some options, but I'm unsure what some of these options would cost. The options I have thought up so far are as follows:

1. Try to turn this crank .020 or .030, get a used rod, recon them with ARP bolts and order some custom forged pistons.

2. Find a usable 455 crank, buy rods and pistons.

3. Buy the Eagle 4.5 crank, aftermarket rods and pistons. I'm unsure if these are already setup for BBC .990 width rods or not.

4. Try to turn the 425 core crank to BBC journals, use BBC rods and most likely custom pistons. I don't know what it costs to turn a crank like that, either offset or in it's current stroke. Also how well does it work to widen the journal that much? I don't think I'm a fan of narrowing rods to fit, I'd rather take it off the crank if I were to go this route.

I'm in Lempster, NH and I don't think there is much of any Olds specialist in the area. I have a machinist I usually use, but he's extremely busy with a local circle track reopening, so I'm not sure if I want to use him in this case.

I'm also curious on the pricing for for this sort of application. I've looked at the Diamond form, and I'd just assume let someone else more knowledgeable then myself fill that out for me.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

At this point I haven't set a budget, I was really looking for some price points/this reliable hp level here sort of info. I was expecting somewhere between 1000-2000 in the rotating assembly at this point. I do have a set of bbc grp rods I wouldn't mind using if possible. As far as HP I'd like to get 450-500ish. I'm running 3.73 gears which I may change with the big block if necessary.

I was planning on building the bottom end/machining etc this year and doing new aluminum heads next winter.
